自由液面に剥離噴流が突き上げるような条件において、 剥離噴流と自由液面との相互作用により、噴流の自励的 な振動現象が発生する事を発見した。この現象は、既報 のジェットフラッタとは異なり、噴流、構造物、自由液 面の3者が存在する場合にのみ生ずる。この振動におい ては、自由液面の盛上がりの生成消滅が特徴的であり、 スゥェルフラッピングと命名した。この振動現象は世界 でも初めての報告である。この振動現象に関して、実験 的な検討を行い振動特性を明らかにするため、2次元矩 形体系のモデルを作成した。その結果、振動数が盛上が りの高さと強い相関がある事を見出した。振動現象の発 生メカニズムに対する検討を実施している。

高速増殖炉において、事故時の崩壊熱は自然循環により 冷却される。一方、単相流の自然循環シングルループに おいて、条件によっては流動がカオスとなることが知ら れている。しかし、実機におけるような、マルチループ におけるカオス的挙動は良く判っていない。 実験および数値解析によって、マルチループにおける自 然循環時のカオス挙動を把握している。数値計算によっ て、マルチループにおいては、シングルループにおける カオス挙動にくらべさらに複雑になることが明確となっ た。また、マルチループにおいては、初期条件によって 異なるアトラクタに吸引される事を明らかにした。

狭流路を介しての密度差置換流

高温ガス炉の事故時には、外部空気とヘリウムガスとの 密度差による置換が起きる。このような狭流路を介して の密度差による置換の律速条件について基礎的検討を実 施した。狭流路が複数であると置換速度は単調に増加す ることが確かめられた。流れ場の可視化によって、流路 内において、二流体のもぐり込み、巻き込みといった現 象が発生している事が確認できた。その結果、もぐり込 み、巻き込み現象が交換速度を大きく支配している事が わかり、これらの現象に対するモデル化を実施した。こ れら二流体の混合現象を把握するための、新モデルを用 いた数値計算コードを開発している。

画像処理による3次元物理量分布測定法の開発

画像処理による各種物理量分布の測定手法は、物理量の 空間分布、時間変化を算出することが可能であり、従来 からのプローブを用いた点計測に比較して優れている。 ホログラフィ技術を用いることにより、流体中の3次元 流速及び密度情報をホログラム上に記録できる。このホ ログラムを再生する事により、3次元流速場、密度場の 同時計測に関する手法を開発している。また、粒子クラ スタのパターンマッチングをベースとした新しい粒子移 動追跡アルゴリズム(バネモデル法)を提案し、その有 効性に関して検討を実施した。その結果、従来の手法で は計測が困難であった画像に対しても、精度良く流速分 布を算出できた。

超電導体の電磁現象に関する研究

本研究室では、Ginzburg-Landau理論を組み込んだFluxoid Dynamics法(FD法)に基づき、第II種超電導体中の磁束量子 挙動の計算手法の開発を行なっている。2次元モデルにお けるNbTiの計算では、ピンニングセンタであるαTiの圧延 率操作による臨界電流密度最適化手法の可能性を示唆する ことが出来た。また、電力貯蔵用フライホイールの高温超 電導磁気軸受けの設計に関する研究では、本研究室で開発 したT-法による高温超電導体(YBCO)中の遮蔽電流の解析結 果をデータベースとし、アキシアル型及びラジアル型磁気 軸受けの最適設計を行なっている。NbTi/Cu複合材料による 磁気遮蔽カップの解析では、A 法をにおいて磁場の異方性 を考慮した計算手法を開発し、実験結果との非常に良い一 致を得ることが出来た。

ビーム物質相関のフェムト秒時間領域の初期過程、即ちイ オン化、励起、イオン分子反応、原子分子振動、欠陥生成 などを解析する研究には、100フェムト秒電子シングル パルスが生成できるライナックが必要となる。その設計研 究をビームダイナミックス解析コード”PARMELA”を用いて 実施した。フェムト秒ライナックは、200keV熱電子銃476MHz サブハーモニックバンチャー、2.856GHzサブハーモニック プリバンチャー、2台のXバンド加速管、磁気パルス圧縮 器より構成される。パルス圧縮後35MeV, 110fs, 0.8nC, 7.3kAの高輝度フェムト秒電子シングルパルスが達成された。 今後さらに設計を最適化し、また加速管内での航跡場の影 響も考慮する。ライナックにおける航跡場とは、加速管中 の電子バンチによって加速管内壁に誘起される表面電荷、 電流がつくる電磁場のことである。その航跡場が、電子バ ンチ自身に及ぼす影響、即ちパルス幅、ビームサイズ、エ ネルギー分布がどのように変化するかを定量的に評価し、 フェムトライナックの設計に反映することを目的とする。 そのために、遅延時間を考慮し、加速管内の4次元ベクト ルポテンシャルを3次元境界要素法を用いて求め、その影 響下で電子ダイナミックスを計算するコードを作成した。 本コードはまだ開発途上であるが、ゲージ条件に改良を加 えれば、この問題に関して世界で最も高性能なコードとな る可能性がある。また、極短量子ビーム誘起現象の可視化 研究の先駆けとして、ダイナミック光放出CTスキャナー をライナックに連動するシステムを開発し、電子ビームが 誘起する水中のチェレンコフ光と固体シンチレータ中の発 光現象をサブナノ秒の時間分解能で動画像化することに成 功した。

原子力圧力容器鋼寿命評価や核融合炉材料設計を行うよ うな場合、既存の照射材料データを用いて、未知の照射 場環境下での材料挙動を予測する必要がある。このとき 問題となるのが、異なる照射場における照射材料データ をいかに結びつけるかといった「照射相関」の問題であ る。物理的根拠が明らかで照射材料設計に有用な照射相 関則を確立するためには、「照射場-材料照射損傷構造- 材料特性変化」の3者の相関関係を明らかにする必要が ある。そこで、二体衝突近似法、分子動力学法、モンテ カルロ法などの原子レベル計算機シミュレーション手法、 重イオン照射下での電子顕微鏡「その場観察」装置や短 パルス電子線加速器等の実験的照射・測定手段、および、 磁気特性測定による非破壊評価手法を応用することで、 材料照射損傷基礎過程のメカニズムと材料微細構造変化 にともなう特性変化を理解し、「照射相関則」を明らか にするための研究を行なっている。

超臨界圧軽水冷却熱中性子炉の研究

超臨界圧軽水冷却炉は、新鋭火力のような貫流型の直 接サイクルとすることで、現行の軽水炉よりシステムの 大幅な簡素化を行なうことを目指した概念である。また、 超臨界圧水を冷却材に用いるため、沸騰遷移を経ずに過 熱蒸気を得ることができ、熱効率も大きく向上する。こ れまでに、炉心設計、プラント設計、安全解析を行なっ て、その成立性を示してきた。現在の課題は、(1)発電 コストに最適な蒸気条件および蒸気サイクルの検討、 (2)より高温まで耐えられる被覆材を用いた場合の炉の 成立性の検討、である。

超臨界圧軽水冷却高速増殖炉の研究

軽水冷却方式であっても、燃料格子を稠密にすること で高速増殖炉にすることができる。高速増殖炉では熱中 性子炉と比較してブランケットが必要になるため炉心構 成が複雑になるが、稠密格子であることにより出力密度 を高くできる。現在の研究課題は、(1)ブランケットの パワースイングに起因する平均出口冷却材温度の低下が 生じないような炉心の設計、(2)貫流型直接サイクルの 原子炉システムに適した制御方法の検討、(3)超臨界圧 での定常運転状態への起動方法および定常運転状態か らの停止方法の検討、である。上記の(2),(3)について は、熱中性子炉についても共通する課題である。

超臨界圧軽水冷却炉の熱的制限値の研究

従来の軽水炉は亜臨界圧水冷却であり、熱伝達率の 急激な低下を伴う沸騰遷移が熱的制限値を与える。超 臨界圧水冷却でも、熱流束が上昇するに連れて擬臨界 温度付近での熱伝達率が低下するという伝熱劣化現象 が存在する。しかしながら、伝熱劣化は熱流束の上昇 に伴い徐々に現れるもので、沸騰遷移と比較して緩や かな現象である。これまでの研究により、k-e乱流モ デルを用いた数値解析によって、伝熱劣化時の熱伝達 率の定量的な予測ができることが示された。現在の課 題は、伝熱劣化後も含めた広いパラメータ範囲での熱 伝達率を解析コードで計算しておくことで、より合理 的な熱的制限値を導き、炉心設計および過渡解析に適 用することである。

粒子法による流体-構造相互作用の数値解析

粒子法は、粒子の集まりによって連続体を表し、支 配方程式を粒子間相互作用によって解く方法である。 計算に格子を全く必要としないため、連続体が分裂・ 合体する場合でも容易に解析することができる。また、 粒子間相互作用として決定論的モデルを用いることで、 従来の格子を用いる方法と同程度の計算負荷でマクロ な連続体を解析できる。これまでは流れの計算に必要 な粒子間相互作用モデルを開発してきた。ここではさ らに、構造物の応力の計算モデルおよび構造物と流体 との圧力を介した相互作用モデルを開発し、これまで の格子法では解析できなかった大変形を伴う流体-構 造相互作用の数値解析法の構築を目指して研究してい る。

粒子法による蒸気爆発素過程の数値解析

原子炉の仮想的な苛酷事故時に、溶融燃料が冷却水 中に落下することで蒸気爆発が生じる恐れがあると考 えられている。しかしながら、蒸気爆発の素過程につ いては、これまで様々な仮説が提案されてはいるが、 解明されていない。蒸気爆発では液体金属、水、蒸気 が係わる多相多成分熱流動であり、水の蒸発や液体金 属の細粒化も生じるため、従来の格子法では解析する ことが非常に難しかった。そこで、粒子法を用いて蒸 気爆発素過程の数値解析を行ない、これまでに提案さ れた仮説の成立性について検討している。現在のとこ ろ、Ciccarelli- Frostの提案した仮説が数値解析に よって再現されている。
